Search Details You Submit
Names, phone numbers, or addresses entered in a search box are sent to the outside provider that returns results. Tennessee Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those queries on its own servers. If a reader sends a message, the information in that note is used to respond.
Basic Technical Logs
The hosting service records standard log details such as an IP address, browser type, page request, and time. These details may be reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and understand overall page use. Cookies or similar tools may also assist analytics and advertising measurement where those features apply.
How the Information Is Used
Technical logs help run the service, spot faults, measure visits, and improve reference pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual reader profiles are not built here.
Outside Search and Record Links
Links from these pages lead to Tennessee offices, county portals, libraries, archives, or outside search providers. Each destination sets its own data policy. The sponsored result tools are run by a separate company, so its handling of a submitted query is covered by that provider's terms.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting and technical providers process ordinary server logs to keep the site online. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automated data described earlier. Information is otherwise disclosed only when valid legal process requires it.
Security and Retention
Traffic is carried over an encrypted connection. Logs are kept only for as long as the service purposes above call for them. Because there are no user accounts, this site does not hold an account password or reader profile.
Children and Teenagers
This reference is intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor's details were sent to us, use the Contact page so we can review and remove the information.
Requests About Visitor Data
People may ask about, correct, or request removal of personal data held by a website, as applicable law allows. Tennessee's Public Records Act, T.C.A. §§ 10-7-501 et seq., and its exceptions in § 10-7-504 govern access to records held by public agencies; they do not give this private reference control over government files. The Tennessee Information Protection Act (TIPA), T.C.A. §§ 47-18-3201 et seq., provides privacy rights when a controller is covered by the law; its thresholds and exemptions determine who must comply. Research reviewed for this directory did not identify a universal Tennessee form that removes someone from every commercial data broker. For information this service holds, use the Contact page. Government records must be addressed to their custodian. The Safe at Home program under T.C.A. §§ 40-38-601 et seq. is a separate protected-address route.
